Mastering the Core Teachings of the Buddha

March 22nd, 2010

This is outrageous free online downloadable book about the Great Work of Enlightenment. I have read many and this one speaks to me more intimately – it portraits the consciousness & meditation territory in a language my Soul is vibrating on. It’s really not a usual meditation book, it talks very differently about many well-known esoteric topics and that’s why I like it. The more time I have invested into the practice and reading of Enlightenment Game, the more I am sure, that the general conclusion is widely lost.
I like how Daniel Ingram describes it interestingly in his 400 pages book. And the practice techniques are awesome!

You can download the book for free at his website – Interactive Buddha.

Or you can buy print copy at Amazon:

Here are few reviews from Amazone, that tell you more:

I can say with extreme confidence that if you read this book, put its principles and techniques into practice and have a clear aim at making progress in your meditation practice, you will be amazed at how quickly you can make real and lasting progress. This book excels at the specifics regarding insight meditation practice (with enlightenment as its goal) and the states and stages related to concentration practice (with unusual and profound states of consciousness as its goal). It also excels at deconstructing the various confused models and misperceptions that spiritual practitioners often have regarding enlightenment.

So, if you’re interested in down-to-earth, practical dharma, and want a clear guide on how to master the core teachings of the Buddha this is the book for you. If you’re looking for coffee table dharma or feel good, new-age fluff, then I would suggest something a little less hardcore.

Of the countless reasons that you should read this book, I offer the following three:

1.) Many books about meditation leave out important information about the sequential stages one will likely (dare I say “inevitably”) encounter in their practice. The ups and downs in one’s practice can be severe, which causes many people to get stuck, and maybe leave the practice all together. Daniel breaks down what one may experience on their journey, and gives very practical advice on how to navigate the territory.

2.) This book clears up a lot of confusion around the goals of meditation practice, particularly what it means to be enlightened (or “awakened”, etc.). By supplying an extensive list of the various models of enlightenment that are used by various contemplative traditions, one may comparatively examine them and get a good idea of what is true and what is false in regards to the process and goal of awakening.

3.) Daniel is brutally honest. He is fully aware that calling himself an Arahat is likely ruffle many feathers. But, it is my impression that he wouldn’t make the claim if he didn’t believe with his entire being that it is beneficial to others to do so. By explicitly detailing his particular attainments and how he was able to gain mastery of very specific techniques, he provides hope to those who also believe that it can be done.

I can say with complete honesty that after reading and applying the basic practices in this book, my meditation practice deepend beyond what I knew was even possible (and still is). I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am to have read it, and how hopeful I am that it will continue to benefit others.

If you want to learn meditation with the goal of attaining earth shattering insight in to the nature of your identity and the universal characteristics of the whole of reality, than this book is for you.

A Beginner’s Guide to Constructing the Universe

March 21st, 2010

In the document Magical Egypt, I have recommended in the previous post, they highly recommend a book with a more detailed introduction to the sacred geometry:

I will leave reviewer’s voices to speak lovely about this masterpiece:

Who knew that our universe is such a spectacularly ordered place? Michael Schneider takes us on a fantastic voyage through the primary numbers one through ten, and shows us how numbers and geometry have helped shape our world and the cosmos. Why is a manhole cover round? Because a circle, whose diameter is everywhere equal, is the only shape that won’t fall into its own hole. Three symbolizes harmony — life has a beginning, a middle and an end. Life forms are often characterized by pentagons (cut an apple in half crosswise and look at the seeds), while six is the number of structure-function-order, as seen in the hexagonal symmetry of crystals and snowflakes. This book is by no means for math majors only; even math dummies like this reviewer will find themselves totally caught up. Art and design students especially will appreciate the almost infinite variety of possible designs suggested within each primary number and the basic shapes (circle, square and triangle). Schneider also shows how, with a compass, pencil and straightedge, one can construct one’s own symbolic universe. I came away from this book not only enlightened on the subject of symbolic math, but blown away by the relationship between geometry and religion. Because reading this book makes one realize that the universe is not random, as we see it within our limited scope, but has a definite function and order, and perhaps only the God who created it according to His plan can see it whole.

This is a very well written book that relates some basic concepts in geometry to science, architecture and life. Each of the ten chapters is about a geometric shape and Mr. Schneider shows how to construct it using only compass and straight-edge. The author begins every construction from a circle, and every line is shown as the intersection of two or more circles. This is consistent with his assertion in Chapter One that the circle is Unity, but I believe it is also more accurate geometrically.
Mr. Schneider gets into the Platonic Solids, explains the golden section and its use in architecture and nature, shows the regularity in nature and a lot more. This is a very educational book that covers a lot of ground, and does so in an entertaining way.
What I really like about the book is the author’s ability to bring geometry to life. There are many diagrams, drawings and pictures which make it easy to follow the text.
The book is written for the layman, not the mathematician. If you are looking for a more rigorous introduction to geometry, try reading H.M.S. Coxeter (if you can!).
This book would be a nice companion to “The Power of Limits” by Doczi, ‘The Geometry of Art and Life” by Ghyka, and “The Divine Proportion” by Huntley.
If I had to recommend only one book about geometry for the average reader, this book would be my first choice.

The Hand-Sculpted House

March 21st, 2010

If one book about a cob (clay, sand, hay) houses, I would definitely pick this one:

The book is full of philosophical content about the broad self-sustainability topic. This is exactly for me, because I need these higher-thoughts in the book, I am not only materialistic person looking for a technical manual about cob buildings (many books are providing this). This book is full of theories about house being the sacred place for your Soul, the building process being the process of understanding to yourself and getting embedded into the Nature and similar. I highly recommend this book.

Here are some reviews:

I paid full price for this book at a retail Book store (I wish I had bought it here!). I have 2 other books on cob building also (Becky Bee’s “The Cob Builders Handbook” – Which I highly recommend also & Michael Smith’s “Cobbers Companion”, I also recommend but Becky’s, I feel is the better of the two.) However, THIS book stands out considerably. It is the MOST awesome book on cob building. It has wonderful photographs & drawings including additional privacy courtyard/outside ideas etc. There is nothing out there that can compare to this book to spark ideas and show the beauty, versatility & many options & benefits one has in cob building. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has even a slight interest in earth homes/cob building. If you are very interested in this or a related subject(straw bale etc.) you will LOVE this book!

For your inspiration, edification, and step by step hands-on & how-to, this book just can’t be improved upon. Long checklists to help you choose the perfect piece of land and how to situate the location of your home. A tutorial in using passive solar to heat your house. How to design its interior to embrace you, find your materials as inexpensively as possible, gather your tool kit (what’s essential, what’s not), test the soil you have, make cob samples and evaluate them. Starter projects such as walls, benches, and stoves. Mixing techniques, building techniques, finishing techniques. The history of cob, the durability of cob, a trouble-shooting guide. How to make your own paint, make your own floor, insulate, remodel the house if you want to, where to put the wiring, every practical detail is included as well as the philosophical… you will find inspiration on every page. Countless examples and real life stories are included, as well as color photographs of cob structures all over the world. This book doesn’t just critique the current system, it shows you a way out!

How to Solve the Problems in the World

March 15th, 2010

This is my reaction to the Rosine’s article – How to Solve the Problems in the World:

Even when I will start to express my objections now, it doesn’t mean, that I don’t like the article, it’s very beautiful one and with many things I concur.

Right, at the start, it reminded me of my writing – Whatever is happening is right and perfect

Now, my few objections:

1. What does perfect harmony means in practice? For me, it’s stillness, no action, no reaction, no happiness, no hate, even no love, just nothing.
So, we need to be disbalanced a little? I think so.

2. What is actually positive thing? When you immerse enough in the substance of each phenomena, I am afraid you can see no positive/negative. And each action is combination of many thousands phenomenons, each action is a mix of them and each action has reaction, cause and effect. And when you trace the effects of each individual action, you realise, there’s never pure positive or pure negative effect. It’s a big dilema for any life decision I think. Things are not always black/white.

3. The more abstract the words are, the more disturbance people created in their explanations/understanding. But the more they pretend, they are sure of them. I am talking about love, peace, friendship etc. Ask anyone about definition of the love and you’ll get thousand answers.

4. About the negative words. What’s more important, inner being/feeling or the outer expressions? I am not waiting ultimate answer, just giving another look, how it is actually all interconnected and hard to decide what is right/wrong.

5. The same for food. Christians will tell you, really deep from their hearts, with big love (as they would describe it), that the meat eating is perfectly in congruence with the God’s rules, hence with Love. Eating something and checking how I feel inside is quite misleading, people can really feel big loving satisfaction with many “unhealthy” things.

I am not trying to make you create arguments against me, I am not creating arguments also. I am just philosophying about the Universe and people. About complications that I face daily. About constantly arising utopian versions of how to save the world, all based on the lesser understanding of the bigger Unified Laws. The more I study and learn, the more I am inclined to the taoism, to understanding that things need to oscillate, they can’t be in harmony and that world is full of paradoxes and one of them is, that even the horrible things are needed, to World be the perfect place for our learning purposes – big school. If there would be harmony, we would be reincarnated somewhere else, where the disharmony dominates. But maybe this is our purpose? To repair one world after another? The last sentences are not meant too seriously :)

Thanks for the nice article!
I am definitely with you in the thinking process of “why don’t we join finally?”
But ideally, I am for the real-life joining – in time and space – real, physical community, but this is very big challenge for all of us. I think we are not ready to undergo this challenge successfully, until the outer conditions will not press us a little bit harder.

Osho On Parenting

March 12th, 2010

“You have to be grateful to existence that it has chosen you to be a passage for a few beautiful children. But you are not to interfere in their growth, in their potential. You are not to impose yourself upon them. They are not going to live in the same times, they are not going to face the same problems. They will be part of another world. Don´t prepare them for this world, this society, this time, because then you will be creating troubles for them. They will find themselves unfit, unqualified” Osho

The Archdruid Reports – Energy Future

March 11th, 2010

Awesome articles are being delivered from The Archdruid Report wonderland. Each week I am being enlightened so profoundly with Greer’s direct logic, leaving many complicated scientist’s articles behind. He makes, from seemingly complex topic, the easy job for understanding.
This is not a spiritual, high minded stroll, like many of my topics here, but the tangible reality that awaits us, no matter how good we meditate, no matter how good we eat, love or think positively.

It’s necessary to get knowledgeable about this basic topic of the humanity’s impending energetic future.
It’s not a dark, barbarian future – but big changes are going to happen soon.
And for me personally? I am looking forward to these changes for more than 2 years.
After I come through many of the depression phases, that followed each of my “conspiracy/future theories” explorations, I am more stronger, more happier, more optimistic than ever before.
Because, in the knowledge, in the acceptance of how things are, instead of believing in the collective illusions, there lies a big power – your mind shifts to the better reality model description and will not be surprised by the big society changes.

If you want to understand the topic, the basic logic behind the solar energy sources, read the latest report – Barbarism and Good Brandy. There’s perfectly explained, how is it impossible to switch from crude oil to bright solar future, without vast amount of compromises – this is what most, even the well educated, population doesn’t understand and you can get the knowledge from this article very fast.
But I strongly recommend reading this whole website from the beginning to end, or at least the preceding articles to this one.
There are many reasons, why even the nuclear power can’t save us – this is very controversy topic for many people.

James Cameron: Before Avatar … a curious boy

James Cameron’s big-budget (and even bigger-grossing) films create an unreal world all their own. In this personal talk, he reveals his childhood fascination with the fantastic — from reading science fiction to deep-sea diving — and how it ultimately drove the success of his blockbuster hits “Aliens,” “The Terminator,” “Titanic” and “Avatar.”

Let Sadness Be a Welcome Guest

March 4th, 2010

“The next time you are sad don’t fight with it. Don’t waste time in fighting; accept it – let it be a welcome guest! Look deep into it, with love, care. Be a real host! And you will be surprised beyond your comprehension: sadness has a few beauties which happiness can never have.
Sadness also has a being. Allow it, embrace it, sit with it, hold hands with it. Be friendly. Be in love with it. Sadness is beautiful! Nothing is wrong with it. Sadness has depth – happiness is always shallow. Sadness has tears, and tears go deeper than any laughter can ever go. Sadness has a silence of its own, a melody, which happiness can never have. Happiness will have its own song, more noisy, not so silent.
I am not saying choose sadness: I am just saying enjoy it too. And when you are happy, enjoy happiness.” Osho

Beautiful zen wisdom from the Yoda Sorcerer.
His english is very Gurdjieff style (and many other eastern gurus) – simple, effective to the point ;)
He reminiscents me somehow to Dalailama :)

Here are the best Yoda’s quotes from the Star Wars – don’t underestimate the scifi fairy-tale background, actually this is much more real than our daily Maya reality (the same for Matrix series and many other great movies with coded Truth message inside).

Sleepwalking – Our collective agreement

February 28th, 2010

Most people on Earth are sleepwalking… living in a vast illusion.

Unwittingly, unknowingly, they participate in a worldwide agreement… to see reality a certain way.

Like a bizarre religion, facts may not have anything to do with this mass dream.

The hidden, unspoken ‘collective agreement’ about “the real world” is subconsciously worshipped as if it were the Will of God.

Mental elimination process

February 26th, 2010

mental health elimination process

I am creating and testing a new theory in my life, in the past days/weeks.
The theory about psychic eliminations.

The point is – there’s no reason to differentiate psychic eliminations from bodily ones.
Let me explain.

When you understand the logic about the physical eliminations, about illnesses, you know they are not a bad things.
Actually, all eliminations and illnesses are great and you should let them happen, not to suppress them.
Even, you should boost them up with some kind of natural remedy.
You suffer for a while, having a fever, head-ache, skin problems, but you know the only way how to treat it, is to go to the cause, not only suppressing the symptoms.
This logic is well known to the macrobiotic world and other “natural methods” practitioners.

I think we should go one step farther with this logic.
And start to realize how our mental/emotional body is using the very same principles.
But the elimination processes are not of the physical dimension of course.
They are the types of fear, stress, anxiety, nervousness, phobia, feeling of lack, envy, hate, self-doubt etc.

When all bodily eliminations are gone, the natural state of our physical body is a good physical health.
And the same logic applies to the emotional/mental health.
The natural state of our mental body manifests as easiness, love, courage, compassion, open-mindedness, curiousity, abundance, adaptability, creativeness, adventurousness, less thinking about oneself, more thinking about Oneness.
These qualities are not something we have to strive for, to fight for, to invest a lot of personal energy to achieve.
They are our natural state of being.

This is very important to understand.
From this logic, come up simple conclusions:

Apply the same elimination thinking to your mental processes.
Let them flow, let them be, don’t suppress them, don’t judge them, don’t try to get around them, acknowledge them.
And to eliminate quickly, even try to celebrate them, love them.
Nurture them – in a sense of paying full attention for a while to them, observe them, but remember – without judging – they are as they are.
As you see, it’s a very similar level of thinking as I have described about the physical eliminations.
See the similarity on a energetic level and it will make perfect sense to you.

The problem of society is obvious – we are suppressing our unwanted emotions, clinging to one side of the coin and creating a lot of havoc in our mental sphere.
It’s all unnecessary, if we understand this simple elimination logic.

But, there are always tricky parts, otherwise all people would be healthy and using these natural methods.

One of the traps is this:
The mental body is much more flexible than the physical one.
It reacts much quicker, all happens very fast in the comparison to the physical world.
What’s the conclusion of this?
Again, very simple.
You are a being influenced by different energetic inputs and they can manifest at your mental sphere very fast.
You can get away of fear for a half day, to experience it again at the other half.
You can have mental eliminations each morning, each day and it may seem like there’s no progress.

And on top of that – the healthier you are, the faster the mental reactions/eliminations do happen.
The same applies to the physical body – here’s an example:
The better your physical health, the faster you get eliminations when you (for example) eat something from the extreme part of energies (white sugar, lot of fats, milk – using the macrobiotic logic here).
Yes, it is a paradox, but illnesses/eliminations are a good sign of your healthy physical body.
The body is eliminating excesses, to maintain perfect health – and an effective, healthy body does it in a fast way.

The same things happen to your mental body, but it happens much faster.
The eliminations come much faster, which can be seen as a bad thing, but they can be released also much faster, if we let them go.
You can eat something of the extreme foods, and you can in a matter of minutes start to have weird mental thoughts – food energy manifestation is really happening fastest in the mental/psychical world – the more attention you pay to it, the more obvious it becomes to you.
Now, you can start to obsess with your weird thoughts, not understanding them, feeling bad for them, suppressing them, like many people do, even the macrobiotic people and not seeing any connection to the food you have eaten.
But it all testifies how unknowledgeable we are – what a misunderstandment.

Start to treat your mental eliminations with this theory and all becomes much easier.
Believe, that when you let them happen, let them eliminate, your mental body will start to clean from a years of debris.
It can start to become quite hard, because all the suppressed emotions are stored there.
But don’t run away from them.

Learn how to meditate, because in meditation you take this mental healing to perfection.
There’s no better way for mental cleaning, than meditations.
Sit, meditate, observe your emotions, don’t judge.
See the meditation process a perfect cleaning exercise – don’t expect anything, don’t think about nirvana or other complicated subjects or state of beings/consciousness, that should be achieved by it.
Just simply sit and do the meditation regularly to clean your mental body.
And it will happen!

The problem is, many people are thinking the meditations and spiritual practices in general should lead to happy, loving, joyous mental states.
And when the fears, anxiety starts to emerge in their life, after they start these spiritual practices, they are afraid, they didn’t expect them, it’s something completely else they wanted, hence they stop to practice and evaluate this spiritual practice as wrong.
They still search for the perfect spiritual path, that will give them the happiness and of course – if you search, you will find.
They will find their “all is perfect” practice.
But what’s the price?
Very big if you ask me – the price of total blindness, artificial reality, matrix dream world.
They succumb to their distorted view of reality, they need to suppress a lot of things in their psyche, they have to invest a lot of energy daily to hold their distorted world and they are becoming slaves of their own Mind world.
It’s all becoming on this subtle energetic level, and it can be understood very easily when you read and listen the right people carefully.

For me, it was a big trap of my spiritual searching. I have fallen to this “all is perfect” dream, I suppressed, I shun from my negative emotions.
But this period was needed to realize how wrong I am.
Maybe there’s no other way to understand things than to make all the mistakes for yourself.
You can read and hear from thousands people, but you never learn, other than from your own experience.
I am 99% sure that this ‘learning only through your own experience’ process is true.

But still, there’s a very important logic in listening and reading all the advices of other people.
Because you can become aware of them, you notice them, get acquainted about how things could work, what are the possibilities.
And when you fall in all the traps, you can bring out the right solution from your magical hat of knowledge.
Maybe it’s still possible to see the solution even without reading anything, without listening anyone – maybe.
But many people are better with having these backup knowledge at their hand – you don’t need to think up the plow if others already done it.

So, if you have fallen already in the trap, or if it waits for you still – it doesn’t matter, take notice of my simple logic here and use it now or later in your life.

Actually, the more I work with this simple thinking, the more evident it is to me and the less I understand how it could happen, that something this basic is not described in a more friendly and logical way.
Of course, it can be the problem of me, that I haven’t read/listened to the right people.
I am not sure if I have created another complicated description of this topic, but I feel like my explanation brings something new, some new insight, especially for the macrobiotic people and for the people seeing logic in the “all is energy” world.
As usually, it brings a new insight to me at least – the writer gets the biggest results, not the reader :)

One last thing – this logic is a perfect example of how we are still not seeing similarities in everything around us.
We are treating physical and mental world like completely different realities, with different set of rules, laws.
Maybe, from the west-science point of view, it could be true, that different rules apply for them.
But this is the perfect time to appreciate the logic of yin/yang.
Yin/yang will educate you and give you a perfect system for working with the whole reality – no matter if physical or mental, energy or matter.
They are all the same – once you understand the Principle of something, you can very creatively apply the same logic in a very different part of the Universe.

So, to sum it up: mental eliminations are using the same logic as the physical ones.
Let all the eliminations flow out of you freely.

Love you! ;)

Stop identifying with your Fears

February 25th, 2010

self-identity fear society

Stop self-identifying with your opinions.

We waste vast amount of PersonalEnergy in holding our self-conceptions.
It’s all about the available energy in the end.
Either you have enough for living fully, living your dreams, or you are running the rat race, in the circle, spending the energy to everything else but your dreams.

Self-identifying with your opinions is one of the biggest PersonalEnergy eaters!

You are not your opinions, realize this.
This is what Buddha and many others taught.
We are not our body, we are not our mind, hence we are not our ideas, opinions.
Easy up with yourself and don’t take yourself so seriously.

You invest a lot of available/potent energy to holding your self-identity.
You are trying to behave consistently, to have the same face each day before the world, before all the people that know you, but especially before yourself, before your EGO connectedness.
You are afraid to behave another way, to really follow your inner feeling, inner emotions.
You are stuck in the dead world of ideas about yourself.
You nurture your SelfIdentity daily, you feed it, like a personal Pet.

But you know what? This Pet theory, it’s not a joke.
Your SelfIdentity is really a living entity.
It is energetic being and it needs to eat, it needs attention.
Read Toltecs (Castaneda, Ruiz – Beyond Fear) – and you’ll get perfect explanations that our emotions are alive entities, feeding on our emotions.

Stop feeding it, nurturing it.
Stop identifying with your opinions.
Start to embrace other people’s world views, ideas, concepts.
Don’t feel attacked if they attack your old views, they are not attacking you, but your coat, your WorldViewGlasses, just your opinion.
This is how the people should think – to embrace these, that are different, that think for themselves, that are not part of the sheep herd.
Don’t be afraid to change your opinions from day to day, if it seems reasonable.
Think logically about other people’s views, be critical, open minded, allow yourself to think differently.
Try to ‘wear’ other opinions first before discarding them, before attacking other world views.

We are living in a big stupid DreamWorld.
Full of close minded people, holding their opinions, stuck in them.
Feeling attacked by other people’s ideas, religions.
Projecting fear around and poisoning other relatives, raising own children in this way – to fear, to feel lack, to take energy from others by the method of fight and fear, not by the method of love and courage.

When you stop identifying with your opinions – the results are:
You start communicating on the web more freely, more often.
You start putting comments to your favorite blogs, to favorite forums.
You start connecting with people in the real world.
You start talking instead of listening only.
Because you are not afraid what others think about you – because you are not your opinions!!

I know, it’s easy to read, but harder to achieve.
I have been there, reading, believing, but still afraid to express myself fully.
I am still learning, but I have gone a long way.
And I can tell you and 100% assure you – be brave and start practicing this MindShift immediately, now.
It will take some time, of course, few months – but you’ll get there – but it’s not about the End, it’s about the walking the Path.
The mind will shift to the new world view (egolessness, energy abundance, love) – the living entity will be cut from the emotional fuel.

And you’ll start to have available energy – start living your Dreams.

There’s nothing wrong with you, if you feel lack of energy, still desperately looking on your Dreams and still not getting them.
You feel bad for yourself, you feel you are weak, useless, unable to achieve your dreams.

But realize this VERY IMPORTANT energetic concept!
This is not fault of your CoreBeing at all, it’s not Your fault.
Don’t feel bad for yourself!
This “feeling bad” thinking is the mind trap, this is the “running in the circle” protractor.
Realize how logical it is on the energetic level.
You have exact amount of available energy – this energy can be regulated of course, the incomes are in your hands how you handle them, there are many ways – I am now talking about the outcomes.
It’s completely up to you, where you invest the available energy.
Because we are domesticated by society, we have no other option to think differently than investing this energy to fear, stress, SelfIdentity.
It’s nothing to feel bad for, to criticize yourself for.
It’s really complicated to see through this SocietyGame.
All energy in this SocietyGame is taken by your mundane jobs, poor partnerships, concurrent relationships, stupid amusement distractions (tv), lot of commercials provocating in you the need for material things.
It’s just how things are, nothing to feel bad for.
Now, realize this – the only way to get out from this trap is to love yourself for whatever you are – especially for this stupidity, that you played the SocietyGame so long.
But, be careful, you are not out of this game at all by seeing through this Game, you just know the doors now, but you are not out yet – I am saying this to protect you from a new MindTrap before you – you think you grasped it now and nobody can stop you – yeah, if that would be so easy – but reality is, you have grasped it, you will do your best now, but you still haven’t enough available energy to go through this door, to close them behind, to lock them – you will be many times kicked out from them – this is how things are in the energetic Universe – I am just preparing you for these up/down periods, this is the typical spiritual grow – remember, love yourself for whatever you are, whenever you are on the way!!
If you not loving yourself, you are wasting a lot of the available energy and closing yourself again to the “rat race”.
Only way how to gather the energy is to start loving Yourself.

Meditate, start connecting to your RealSelf, to the Observer in you.

Play the life with easiness, with grace, with love.
Play the life like a game, which it truly is!
Don’t stress about other people opinions, moods, behaviors.
But don’t be also passive – change things, but with inner calmness.

You are not your opinions (and many other things)!

Start commenting to blogs and forums that you like to read.
Start giving instead of consuming – the more you give, the more energy you get.
Kick out the biggest energy eaters from your life.
Don’t hold the old relationships based on fear, based on the past times.
Or don’t kick anyone, just stop feeding them with your energy, don’t allow them to eat your portion. But when you do this, very probably, many of them will be angry to you, because they suddenly stop getting the feed from you.
Be kind with them – they are just addicts as we all are.
But stop prolongating this stupid SocietyAddiction.
Read Miguel Ruiz – The Four Agreements – it’s a perfectly practical set of things how to raise your energy. But most important, don’t only read, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!
Express Abundance.

Love you ;)

Self-observation

February 24th, 2010

self observation awareness consciousness

These are the thoughts of the Gurdjieff about the self-observation, self-awareness. They are from the book “Boyhood with Gurdjieff”, which is written from the perspective of one little boy, being educated in Gurdjieff’s institute.

Different personalities, working together, produced subjective, human conflicts; human conflicts produced friction; friction revealed characteristics which, if observed, could reveal “self.” One of the many aims of the school was “to see yourself as others saw you;” to see oneself, as it were, from a distance; to be able to criticize that self objectively; but, at first, simply to see it. An exercise that was intended to be performed all the time, during whatever physical activity, was called “self-observation” or “opposing I to it” — “I” being the (potential consciousness, “it” the body, the instrument.

He began by asking me about the exercise that had been given to all of us to do, and which I referred to previously as “self-observation”. He said that it was a very difficult exercise to do and that he wanted me to do it, with my entire concentration, as constantly as possible. He also said that the main difficulty with this exercise, as with most exercises that he did — or would in the future — give to me or to any of his students, was that to do them properly it was necessary not to expect results. In this specific exercise, what was important was to see oneself, to observe one’s mechanical, automatic, reactionary behavior without comment, and without making any attempt to change that behavior. “If change,” he said, “then will never see reality. Will only see change. When begin to know self, then change will come, or can make change if wish — if such change desirable.”

It’s all about consciousness, as always. Don’t underestimate these simple self-observation exercises. Try to practice them whenever you can. Because the paycheck is probably the best you can imagine. Buddha, Osho, Gurdjieff, Eckhart Tolle, Anthony de Mello, Castaneda, Jesus – no matter who you follow, they all tell you – observe yourself, be conscious, be here and now. But they use different words to pass the message to you and suggest you a little different techniques, but see unity in all of them.

Become egoistic – sacrifice is a big lie!

egoistic selfish consciousness

Become egoistic in the True sense.
Start following the path of your inner voice, of your big Ego.
Be totally selfish in expression of your True desires.
And everything will be perfect.
Don’t succumb to the opinions of other people telling you, that you must sacrifice yourself for others.

Maybe you don’t understand me now.
Maybe you think egoism is something wrong, selfishness would cause a lot of apathy for other people needs.
Yes you are right, and no you are wrong in the same time.
Because you need to redefine the meaning of Egoism to understand my logic.
I am not talking about the body/mind Ego.
I am talking about your True Self Ego – some people call it Inner Voice, the path of your Heart.
In this sense you start to be Egoistic.

Start following your Heart/InnerVoice and become deeply selfish in this pursuit.
Because, when you sacrifice yourself in a job you don’t enjoy at all, just because other people consider this position solemn, if you sacrifice yourself in a partnership just because you think the divorce/split is immoral, you are killing yourself, you are totally wrong and you are pitiable, you are empty box following your small Ego.
Be selfish and follow the higher Ego, your Consciousness or whatever you want to call it.

PS: There’s a big problem with the words obviously.
All the terms – Consciousness, higher Ego, Inner Voice, following your Heart, your True Self – they can mean a lot of things and many people and religions use them in different means. Then the chaos starts. Be aware of this and don’t get distracted easily. Collect the puzzle pieces and make the big picture. For me, these terms are the same in the case of this article.

You have to kill God to know God

February 21st, 2010

light through a church window

Following is too abstract text, I am learning how to play with English words, pardon me:

You can’t learn what Truth is, if you already know what Truth is.

Delete all the rules of society, all the rules of religions, opinions of other people, no matter how important they are.
What will stay?
Your true Essence.

It’s a big lie, that we need moral laws to behave right.
We are born perfectly moral and all the rules downloaded to our memory are creating the world of misery.
Everyone is repeating this lie, we are repeating it to our children and nobody questions if the assumption was right.

We are afraid to kill our Gods, our core beliefs!
It’s a very frightening step for our psyche.
But you can’t see the world as it is, when you are living in the world of man’s concepts.
You have to release all imposed knowledge, to get infusion of the True Knowledge.

When you get to know your Self, you can learn and do whatever you want and you will stay forever Pure.
Because you can’t forget your real experience.
You have to kill God to know God.

Macrobiotic movement – refreshing energy

February 20th, 2010

This discussion was started by Phiya’s Facebook message. I would like to reprint it here, for other people to benefit.

Phiya >> Macrobiotics must necessarily address addictions, be they from more serious substances such as drugs and alcohol, or from foods such as sugar, ice cream, chocolate, fried foods, junk foods, baked foods and processed foods. It isn’t enough to stop the addiction itself but to also address the addictive patterns of thinking and behaving as well…

Me >> Macrobiotic should provide more theories about all energies beside the food. Macrobiotic is very good in setting the exact food pattern, standard plate – people like precise rules. I think, there should be similar precise pattern for the rest of the life energies/activities. People are not aware of this.. that they should balance all their …

John >> Interesting point, Frantisek, although wouldn’t there be a danger that so much precision and control over everything would kind of squash out all the freedom and joy of living? Just a thought…

Me >> John: I think there are two sides as usually. Some people would become too rigid (yang) because of this, some people would be helped to become less unresponsible (yin). For me, I try to look at mental body the same as physical. I think the exactly same question can be put over the food plate. Doesn’t it cause too much control? From what I see and people I know, there are many rational/logical thinkers in the macrobiotic movement. I think, one of the reasons for this is – the precision with which the macrobiotic sets all the food rules (the whole logical taoism yin/yang logic). I can imagine the same style of rules for the spiritual/mental/emotional life. They don’t need to be perfectly precise.. the importance would be put on the overall harmony/balance logic. There would be suggested ‘plate’ models with the basic theory around – that everyone is different, unique and has to find his way. I am just suggesting more discussion about the spiritual/mental part in the macrobiotic. I know top M leaders are aware of this very well and they try to address this issue. For example in the latest edition of Cancer Prevention Diet – there’s whole new part about Emotions related to Cancer development.

I am getting inspired by Integral Life Practices last days – I like how they try to make balance from different world practices – http://www.kenwilber.com/personal/ILP/MyILP.html

I am just speaking from my daily macrobiotic practice, from my life experiences with M and from many M people I know around. I see where they make mistakes, where I have made mistakes.. and this issue is one of them – on of the biggest mistakes I made – I just simply didn’t balance all my parts of life, I have concentrated too much on food :)

John >> Excellent insights, Frantisek…I am often in conversation with students and friends here in Scandinavia who repeatedly bring up the issue: “if MB food is meant to be local, how come it all comes from Japan?”

I have very well thought-out and articulated answers to such questions, of course, but what if one applied the same criteria to “spiritual food?”

Many of the arguments that one can make about solid food do not make sense when applied to spiritual food.

I have personally derived ENORMOUS benefit from Far Eastern spiritual practices, but I find it much easier to explain to a Finn why he should eat miso soup every day than why he should chant the Diamond Sutra every day…

Perhaps we should continue this very interesting conversation somewhere other than Phiya’s FB wall: he probably wants to put the cat out and get some sleep : )

BTW, how can you possibly have such excellent English?

best wishes,

John.

Me >> I think we can continue chatting here, Phiya can just ignore and others can see it and join, if they want.

Excellent English? Thank you, but I don’t think so. The same question could be send to you also, right? Or at Finn, it’s usual to talk English there? For me, I am self-employed from 99, I make money from net, I get info from english websites, so I consider myself as very poor learner.. for so many years of reading in English, I am not good at all :) But writing, talking and reading is very different, you know. For writing, the best practice become from my blog writing http://www.macrobiotic.name

About the local macrobiotic issue. I was dealing with the same question myself and from people around, asking me why so many Asia groceries. I have found general macrobiotic answers for this – the logic of the same climatic zone and also the logic of “the more water food has, the closer to you it has to be”. It served me well. But finally, I am questioning the same thing again. Looking from different perspective and now the perspective could be described as “simplicity” and “self-sustainability”. From this point of view, I am for localizing macrobiotic to each country/environment. I am asking myself, what if there will be world crisis, what if I want to live deep in the nature. I am sure, I can live from the local production, without miso, kuzu, umeboshi, seaweeds. I think they can be exchanged with other fermented foods or that I can learn how to prepare them similarly. In the end, the fermented foods were in each country’s history, we just have to rediscover and also learn about wild plants/weeds. They are my seaweed replacement ;)
Maybe the little problem is with rice. I like rice very much. But I am going to learn about no-water rice cultivations (if I say it right, they just don’t need so much water and warm/wet weather).

For the spiritual practices. I think we are in the quest of rediscovering our old roots too. At least I am. Pagan, druid religions were the basis of nearly all religions (if you look closely and open your mind). Sacral geometry is hidden everywhere. It’s all about energies, the spiritual practices differ just like the different exercises for the body. But I have no problem with doing aikido in the Czech, or meditating vipassana style, because I see it all as having exact energy on me (more yin, more yang). Meditations and exercise are in christianity, just under different names :)

John, so you are Finn macrobiotic lecturer?

Thanks for the conversation, awesome topic :)

Patrick >> i enjoyed this exchange, it is clever;just suggesting that everyone that is interested in this kind of mind excercise could go and simply rediscover the diet of their peaceful ancestors, some times very difficult to do find (peaceful)
michio’s work is tremendous!!
we all could turn into what i call lattitude”izing” MB,and trust me there is lots of work to be done in it’s longitude”izing” as well; to be continued if you so desire??? love peace, namaste

Me >> Patrick: I am not sure what you are talking about. I surely desire for continuation :)
And I agree, Michio’s work is colossal!!

Patrick >> frantisek, in simple terms i’m talking about about the true regionalisation of MB latitude and longitude wise, michio only touched base with that! and also i have to remember that this way of life is base on the motto of ” one peaceful world”
therefore my question about following the diet of peaceful ancestors ( pre traveling foods) is i think a crucial one

i have in storage in mass a tremendous book of about 500 pages written by a polish man ( don’t remember his name now) about fermented food complete history and geography

Me >> Patrick: thanks for the explanation, somehow your English is a little hard for me (I don’t consider it as your problem).
You remembered me about the “Ferment & Human Nutrition” excelent book from the Bill Mollison (father of Permaculture movement), maybe this is the one you mean, but he is not polish I think :)

Check the reviews.. really great book!
